to get Tata Airlines joint venture with Singapore Airlines about 10-12 years back. Tata’s were asked Rs 15 crore (150 mn) bribe by the then aviation minister (whoever it was). The point to note is that the work ethics of Tata Group come out strongly from his words. Good to hear the story.

He said more than the funds it is needed that we attract brains of Indian origin to comeback to India and work here at least for short Period.
Our View: Indian Education/research has been grappled with the same situation and needs eradication of such mindset or people with such mindsets to liberate Indian Science. Corruption is pervasive in the Indian society, wherein money can buy favours at every level, including research scholarships, grants, medals, PhDs — the list goes on.
