Now Mayawati Wants UP State Break-up
Looks like Indian states are having a race to break up before the new year! Right behind AP and Gorkhaland/West Bangal, now Mayawati wants UP State break-up into as many parts as the people want. Which people is she referring to? The one major difference in this UP case is that she may be able to get the proposal passed using her majority power, whereas in AP a majority of ruling Congress MLAs are themselves against the proposal. Btw, smaller states does not mean better states.

Reliance ADAG is getting into branded food products by launching a food and beverage brand: ‘Movie Munchies’ and its own mineral water brand, ‘Spring’, later this month. They will be initially sold through Reliance ADAG’s 500-odd BIG cinema outlets across India, Malaysia, Netherlands and the US, the bigger plan is to sell this food products in airports and independent retail outlets. Online CAT puts IIM reputation ‘on the line’
There are reports that the exam system was not behaving in the same way at all centers and passwords were not working, putting lots of candidates into distress. Looks like a super way to stress test the candidates, ie, if you could complete the exam in the first place, you are already interview material!
Jokes aside, more rigorous testing should have been done, and fewer but stronger centers could have been opted for this initial online exam. Hindsight 20/20. Problems will happen in every large scale execution, but online tests are really the way to go with improvements. IBM looking at Expansion into Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubhaneshwar, Vizag and Nagpur
IBM now wants to enter Tier II cities with a bouquet of hardware, software and services offerings, primarily targeted at mid-market clients. It has decided to enter cities like Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubhaneshwar, Vizag and Nagpur to pursue its mid-market strategy along with its channel partners. It has planned hub and spoke model by making Tier II cities as the hub for Tier III cities. Noteworthy is its initiatives to launch IBM Express Remote Managed Infrastructure Services (ERMIS) and to provide Scalable Modular Server Rooms (SMSR) to these cities.
