It has come out that there are no bidders for the Pakistani Players in the IPL to be held this season. Government could not give any guarantee in giving them visa and there were security concerns as well which had lead franchisees to take such decisions.
Our View: There was a consensus among the franchisee to not take Players from Pakistan in their teams. This indeed is
not good for the game but possibly for the some of the franchisees but they had taken such decision by weighing the pros and cons. But the security of the players will remain a major concern for the team franchisee as there is still an issue lingering with the Australian players Playing in Mumbai and Maharashtra. Also, when the board has put the onus of the team managers then it becomes very risky to include Pakistani players. If they want to pep up the security then the money that they would need to pay for security and the risk that they will have to take would edge out the benefits that they would get by bidding for the Pakistani players.
