Indo-Pak, Pak-USA developments and views

US is planning to rush more spy drones in Afghanistan to increase its spying and attacking capability. Use of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has proved to be very useful due to the intelligence/video footage that it provides; some would even be fitted with multi dimensional cameras. On a different instance, President Obama had excepted that they consider Afgan-Pak border to be epicenter of the terrorism. And hence comes the plan to deploy drones in the region.

Our View:
Terrorists have also been keeping a close eye on the developments. And their activity is on increase in Indo-Pak border [Ref: Fourth attempt to infiltrate foiled along the Indo-Pak Border], as a strategy to direct the Pakistani army from the Afghan-Pak border to Indo-Pak.

In an another interview, Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff admitted that it would take long to fill the gap of trust between US and Pakistan. In the same interview he admitted that the Pakistan army is learning counterinsurgency. Till now Pakistan has been involved in insurgency activity, such assignments would teach them many skills which they might use for doing militant insurgency in India.Pak-US trust deficit
