Folks, the news on our Tigers is not good at all. If you see any tiger parts trading, please let the authorities know. It will be sad if despite all our economical progress, we can’t save this ‘crown jewel’ species.
A new scientifically-based count reveals the true extent of the catastrophic fall in tiger numbers. Tiger body parts and bone are used in traditional Chinese medicine and the skins are prized too. For every one tiger we recover, several get smuggled out of India after poaching.
Wildlife experts are unanimous that unless there is a ban on tiger parts, and related medicines, there is little chance to stop the ongoing poaching. Of course, we can point fingers at China for being a greedy buyer for our tigers…but “jab humare hi log involved hain to kya karen?’ The poachers are Indians not foreigners, so no blame game please.
The solution is not easy because it needs hard work by the state and central governments, and since they have much more burning issues/scams that they are not able to handle, I guess we will have to let the Indian tigers get extinct in a few decades.

We need your forest land more than you do, and we can’t resist peddling your body parts for quick bucks. Maybe you are safer in a zoo in Europe or America.
