Sugar Prices Again On A Rally

New Delhi: Sugar prices have become stronger on anticipation higher demand in the upcoming festival season and lower release in January by the government. This could mean higher prices for biscuits, cold drinks, confectionery, chocolates and other processed food items of urban mass consumption. The prices have shown a rally of Rs 5 on ex-factory prices. The rise is unusual because the Maharashtra output has grown up by 3.4%. The total production which was projected to be 16m tonnes is being revised to 15.5 million tonnes against a requirement of 23 million tonnes.

Usage Above The Approved Quota? Get Ready For A Electrical Disconnection

Bhopal: MP Electricity Distribution Company has made it clear that the commercial and industrial user need to curtail their usage to their approved quota. He was speaking in a meeting with the CEOs of the company. He has also advised that there should not be any illegitimate usage of power for commercial activity under the household connection. Also, all those places where the usage is more than 3KWH should shift to 3 phase supply if they have single phase supply.

Narendra Modi and Shreeshant Maharashtra and Karnataka were the worst affected states of the country. At least 249 people have died in Maharashtra while the virus has claimed 128 lives in Karnataka. Pune, with over 120 cases of deaths due to the H1N1 virus, earned the dubious distinction of being the swine flu capital of India.
  • Tata’s Nano arrives: Tata Motors’ ambitious Nano, the Rs 1 lakh car, finally hit Indian markets early this year. Marketed as the ‘people’s car’ and the ‘cheapest car in the world’, the Nano won the Indian Car of the Year Award for 2008-09, promising an affordable and comfortable vehicle to millions of Indians for whom a car was far out of reach.

IIT Faculty Shortage: 1 in 3 professor posts vacant

Centrally funded technical institutions (or the CFTIs) are currently short of more than 3000 faculty members, which is about 1/3rd their total strength. CFTIs include the IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, ISM Dhanbad, NITs a total of 9 such institutions.
